Exploring intersections of nature, technology and perception.
Through visualization of soundwaves recorded underwater in Biesbosch at various locations, laser lights in different colours reveal what in this project is categorized as ‘natural’ sounds (green) and what is categorized as anthropogenic noise (red) as well as the soundwaves that are inaudible to the human ear (white/blue).
The categorization is based on the underwater recording and an estimate in frequencies of sounds that appears in recordings with and without anthropogenic noise.
